ARCH 1101 - TASK 1

THE 3 POSTS TO SHOW WHAT I DID, WHAT INSPIRES ME AND WHAT I FIND BEAUTIFUL

A. Best piece of creative work from high school

This is an image of a display board that I designed during design classes at high school. The content on this board is about briefs which I got to choose in the beginning of the year. I choose to design a logo, a aircraft skin, a website chain and the inflight magazine cover for an imaginary airline company. I intended this company to be upperclass and luxurious thats why I built my designs around the colour of regal blue. The logo of the company is based on a dragons head however it is very vague in order to give the image a mystical and dream like appearance. I liked this project very much and hopefully I will find projects similar to this one during the time I do my architectural studies degree.

B. An image of the building that inspired me to become an architect

This is an image of the Cosmo Dome, Osaka, Japan.

This building was an inspiration to my desire to pursue in the career of architecture because of its exotic style. When I first saw an illustration of the structure on a local tourist map I was very curious about its real life appearance therefore I went to the island in order to inspect this futuristic style of architecture. I find this building very special and attractive because it gives you the sense of what the buildings of the future might be like. This dome I think could be refered to as the structure before its time. In the future we might see houses designed like this and they will all relate to this kind of futuristic style.

C. An original photograph of something beautiful

This is an image taken in the mountains in I-Lan, Taiwan

I see nature as beautiful for I like tramping and camping in the outdoors. An image could not fully explain the feeling because in order for nature to show its true beauty you must be at the scene in first person. Nature shows it beauty through sight, sound, taste and touch. This image is only a fraction of what I identify as beautiful. Before I came to Australia for University I was in high school in Auckland and back then I regularly tramp and camp in a national park in the central North Island of New Zealand. It is called the Tongariro National Park and it is home to 2 dormant and 1 active volcanoes. The bushes and landscape there are similar to the one in the picture, and is quite beautiful, however I could not show a picture because I didn't bring a camera. However, the tramp in Taiwan also represents a similar idea.
